David G. A. Photography

Welcome to David G A Ward Photography

I have decided to showcase here a variety of genres. I feel that they show in the best possible way, who I am as a photographer:

Peruvesi, Pertunmaa
The Other Shore- Peruvesi, Mäntyharju, Central Finland.Taken in Finland on my Family’s lake. This panorama has been stitched together in Photoshop from about 10 portrait images of the lake. The image is how the lake looked on that day I took the photographs.
What lies beneath: - Created for a Constructed Image course at UCA Farnham. Through the research I undertook for the work I was inspired to find a way to portray the hidden self (the animal) in photography. A self that man has thought hard to suppress because of the danger it might pose on others and the danger of giving too much of yourself away. You would prefer to stay behind the human mask rather than letting out your true self.

Le Seu Cathedral. (SIDE) Palma Mallorca: - I took this image while visiting the city in 2012. I love the contrast of the gothic sandstone against the dark blue sky

Peace and Tranquillity at Cala Esmarelda, Cala D’or, Mallorca: – I created this image for my first year NCFE course from about four images that I stitched together in Photoshop. This was one of my first panoramas made in this way. My NCFE tutor told me about this art form and I have made several more ever since.
Le Seu: - This panorama has been stitched together in Photoshop. I took the images in 2014 when I was in Palma, Mallorca on holiday. That year was the first time I had visited the city and the country. This turned out perfectly, more so than I had hoped it would.

7DeadlySins
7deadlysins: The Damnation of Julien Uxbridge esq. : – I was tasked in Year two of my NCFE course to create a unique photographic representation of the Seven Deadly sins and through my research on Poetry and the mythology surrounding these sins, I created these 7 storyboard images of a man known as Julian Uxbridge esquire; his journey from the top to the bottom; his desires destroyed him in the end.
The Red Rose Runs Deep: This is one of my most favourite images. I took the image at the 2014 Hampton court Flower show. The colours are so sublime. I have not enhanced them in any way. They are as they were in life.
